LYRICS

Halcyon Days

Halcyon Days

Halcyon Days

Verse 1

I gave it my all

To try and face today

Sacrifice and sweat

Still it didn’t go my way

Pre Chorus:

Is this what I own?

Is this all I have known?

Chorus

Something is missing

Where’s my Halcyon Days

What will I look back to

When I am old and dazed?

Verse 2

Lie in my dark bed

Stare through into tomorrow

I can already see

How it drips with sorrow

Pre Chorus:

Is this what I own?

Is this all I have known?

Chorus

Something is missing

Where’s my Halcyon Days

What will I look back to

When I am old and dazed?

Escape

Halcyon Days

Halcyon Days

 Verse 1

Look at all the miserable fools

Don't they know that they are only tools

Look at all their miserable lives

Filled with nothing at all but strife

 Chorus

From the eyes which I despise

From the ears that hear only lies

From the faces that I hate

Don't ever want them to taste

The bitterness in me

Only way I could be

Not gonna ever be that way

You gonna have to help me to escape

 Verse 2

Look at those stupid and weak beliefs

Just an excuse for them to sell some wreaths

Why can you not take me away from here?

All I want is to disappear

 Chorus

From the eyes which I despise

From the ears that hear only lies

From the faces that I hate

Don't ever want them to taste

The bitterness in me

Only way I could be

Not gonna ever be that way

You gonna have to help me to escape

 Verse 23

Look at my own miserable life

I am going to take out the knife

And cut away all the shit

Because I know this isn’t it…
